Adelaide is a high-end gated community that will be located in the Northern part of Viera (located across from Summer Lakes), and will consist of 143 home sites, all 200 ft. deep and 120 - 150 ft. wide. Adelaide will have a 24-hour 'manned' gated entrance. There will be three distinct sections to Adelaide.
The Park at Adelaide: Hot off the press! 24 new homesites were just released. Lot prices range from just under 100K to just over 200K. Minimum size to build is just 2200 sq. ft under air. Prices from $775K and up (including pool, lot and homesite).

1989: The master plan for Viera is announced. The Viera Company donated 30 acres of land to the school board, and another 53 acres of land to the Brevard County Government Operations Center.
1990: Viera DRI (Development of Regional Impact) approved for 3,200 acres on the east side of I-95.
1991: VIERA REALTY, INC. is established. Viera Company donates 56 acres of land for a new Brevard Zoo. The Brevard Zoo was recently listed as one of the top 30 best zoos in the nation, by U.S News and World Report (2019).
1992: Hammock Lakes is the first residential community to begin construction in Viera. Viera Boulevard constructed from US1 to Murrell Road.
1993: Space Coast Stadium opens up on land donated by The Viera Company (now home to USSSA)
1994: Viera East Golf Course opens, and The Viera Company constructs Stadium Parkway at no cost to the taxpayers. Viera earns ENVY award from Florida Association of Realtors for balancing residential development with the natural environment.

1995: Additional 5,800-acre expansion of the Viera DRI is approved for the west side of I-95. The Heritage opens in Viera East and is the first gated custom-home community.
1996: VA Clinic and Justice Center opens on land donated by TVC. Construction begins on Wickham Lakes, the first residential community west of I-95 in Central Viera.
1998: Population reaches 6,000
2001: Ralph Williams Elementary School opens on 15 acres donated by The Viera Company.
2003: Viera's second elementary school, Manatee Elementary opens. The first 124 acres of land is donated to Brevard County for the Viera Regional Park and Soccer Fields.
2004: The Avenue Viera, an upscale, open air retail and entertainment center opens. Viera's third elementary school, Quest Elementary opens. Population reaches approximately 14,000.
2005: Duran Golf Club opens with a championship 18-hole course designed by Chip Powell. Top 50 world class lighted development center featuring 9 hole par 3 practice course and driving range.
In 2020 Duran Golf Club was honored to be one of just 10% of golf courses in the Nation to earn the Audubon Certification. This program helps golf courses protect the environment while preserving the historical embrace of nature in the game of golf.
2006: Viera High School opens. Viera Builders is established. An estimated 18,000 residents live in Viera.
2007: Viera Blvd. is connected from east to west with a bridge that crosses I-95, constructed by The Viera Company. Two more community parks are opened, bringing in the total in Viera to six. 5,500 jobs and 87 businesses call Viera home.
2008: The world class Health First Pro-Health & Fitness Center opens in Viera Health Park.
2009: Additional 11,500-acre expansion of the Viera DRI is approved for the wetern expansion of Viera. Viera Wildnerness Park is approved - over 5,200 acres will remain undeveloped and help assure the long-term protection and enhancement of Viera's natural resources and protected species including: the American Bald Eagle, Crested Caracara, Sandhill Crane, the Burrowing Owl, and the Gopher Tortoise. The Wildness Park will be managed by the Viera Stewardship District.
2010: Population reaches 20,000
2011: Viera Hospital opens
2014: Viera Celebrates its 25th Anniversary, with over 22,000 residents in Viera, over 8,500 jobs generated over 240 businesses both large and small.
2016: Viera ranked 22nd of Top 50 Master-Planned Communities in the US.
2016: Addison Dog Park opens in West Viera!
2018: February 2018 opening weekend for USSSA at the Space Coast Complex in Viera. The USSSA has programs in multiple sports for all ages from kids ages 4 to adults 80 years old. There are 75k baseball teams, 35K fast pitch teams, and 45K slow pitch teams registered.
2020: The 'Pineda Extension' project is underway and will extend access to the Pineda Causeway directly from the West side of Viera, making access to the beaches and US 1 much easier and direct.
August 2020: Viera Elementary School and Pinecrest Charter open for the upcoming school year.
Did you know...There is still up to 4,000,000 more square feet of retail and office space planned to be developed over the coming years, in addition to 20,000 + more residential units. By the year 2050, Viera may include more than 70,000 residents living in more than 30,000 residences working and shopping in some 7,000,000 sq. ft. of business space.

NEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL COMING TO WEST VIERA FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2020 - Go Falcons!
'Viera Elementary School' will be innovative and interactive. Currently under construction just south of the Addison Village Clubhouse, this new school should be completed by June, 2020. The school currently has open boundaries, and applications will be accepted via a lottery process, beginning Feb 3, 2020, and seats will be offered in March. All students in the district can apply, but Manatee and Quest students will have preference.
Adrienne Schwab, a long time Brevard County resident, has been appointed the new Principal of the school.

Ranking in the top 20 among comprehensive high schools, Viera High continues to shine. They have one of the largest dual-enrollment and advanced-placement course loads in the county, and achieve a 90 percent acceptance rate into colleges and universities around the nation. Viera High offers 22 AP courses as part of the Advanced Placement CapStone program.
A new addition to Viera, the community welcomed the first K-8 charter school in August 2013. The new school focuses on a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) based curriculum and operates with more autonomy than traditional public schools.
Viera Charter School broke ground on a new middle school on November 7, 2019. The school expansion will include a new track, gym, an area for baseball and soccer fields and more. With the expansion of the new middle school, enrollment will increase from 1,050 to 1,600 students.
Manatee Elementary School was just named a National Blue Ribbon School for 2017 by the U.S. Department of Education. Manatee is now within an elite group, as the school is just one of 12 schools in the state of Florida named to the list and the only non-choice school recognized for the honor this year.

Pinecrest Academy is a new Charter school opening in Viera that will offer special programs in Performing and Fine Arts, as well as Health, Physical Education, Languages and Technology.
